What we do

We design and develop novel personal urinary management products.

Ease of use and environmental sustainability are core principles of our design ethos.

Our development portfolio includes aesthetically and functionally appealing products to meet the needs of users across a range of sectors.

Our first, patent applied for, product is due to start user trials in November.

Who we are

BSL was formed in July 2019 by Keith Binding and Sarah Leather.

Keith was originally a commercial lawyer, and has 20+ years’ commercialisation experience in the  life sciences and environmental sectors. He saw at first hand the adverse effects of urinary incontinence on his mother’s physical health and wellbeing in her final months, and on that of his father, her principal carer.

Sarah is a designer and entrepreneur with a passion for creative problem-solving.

We work with experts in health and social care, materials science, manufacturing design, and sustainability, who share our determination to create products that are convenient, improve lives, and make a positive difference to the environment and society.

BSL produces 3D prototypes of its first product

BSL, working with TPG Packaging Consultants and Protolabs, have produced the first 3D prototypes of its personal urine capture device design. The design is the result of several months of pre-covid-19 lockdown engagement with NHS incontinence specialists, charities and incontinence sufferers, to really get to grips with understanding the practical day-to-day issues faced by those with continence management issues. Prototypes will start internal testing with the aim of achieving proof of concept – a leakproof design – as quickly as possible.
